Social Disparity for Female Breadwinners

Despite the fact that women have ascended to the 40th percentile of breadwinners, their wages still lag those of their male counterparts.  Is it respect, perceived self-worth, or some good old-fashioned machismo that women are lacking, causing their wages not to increase with their breadwinning abilities?   This is information that the Pew Research Center Analysis did not touch upon.

Being able to perform at a lower wage could be a marketing advantage. I've worked at companies where women beat out men for positions because they were willing to take less. Management knew that, and, in my opinion, exploited it.
